The Housing Industry Association is Australia's peak private sector building industry body, representing residential builders, trade contractors, suppliers and related industry participants. As a national industry organisation, HIA’s primary role is to represent and advance the interests of our members.
You will be responsible for providing building and technical advice and assistance relating to technical, environmental, planning and OHS issues for residential builders, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers. You will be supported by industry experts to provide HIA's members with advice and assistance. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to industry committees and government submissions in building legislation and regulation. This role may be based at our Hunter, Canberra or Sydney office.
To be successful in this role you will have strong networking and communication skills. A qualification in a relevant field (such as building, construction management, engineering, building surveying) is required. You will have the ability to provide advice and respond to a range of building and technical enquiries (phone, face-to-face, online) in relation to building codes, standards and building products. You will also have the ability to research and prepare written information on technical matters.
