Assistant Director – Contracts and ComplianceIf you enjoy the idea of becoming an expert across a range of legal areas, a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders of all sizes and supporting members in the home building industry then this role is for you.HIA currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated legal expert to join our team as Assistant Director – Contracts and Compliance to provide innovative and industry focused support and member services across the country.What will you be doing?If you have always wanted to use your legal skills to have a direct and positive impact then this is the job for you.In your role you will support the Director – Industrial Relations and Legal Services in managing and maintaining the risk allocation and legislative compliance of HIA’s suite of standard form contracts.  Identifying and developing commercial opportunities to further enhance HIA’s contracts and related documents also forms a part of the role as does leading and managing projects related to HIA’s contract offering.The role also requires that you provide support to regional managers and workplace services staff, and monitor and provide advice nationally on emerging contracts and compliance issues.You may also engage with members face to face through a variety of activities including the delivery of training and membership presentations to small and large groups on key business compliance issues.Supporting and representing the interests of our members is a core value of HIA and in this role you will assist HIA prosecute its policy to Federal government agencies and regulators.Who are you?Are you looking for a hands on role outside of a traditional law firm? Being a good communicator is vital. You will need to have tertiary qualification in legal, contract, construction or related discipline.
