Exciting opportunity to work with a leading industry associationFull time, permanent roleNational organisationThe Housing Industry Association is Australia's peak residential building industry body. HIA’s primary role is to provide support and advice to our members in a range of specialty areas that affect their business. We are currently seeking to appoint a Director – Building Services who will provide operational management of building services staff and the delivery of building services to HIA members and the residential building industry across Australia.The Director – Building Services will work in consultation with HIA’s building and planning services team and Regional Executive Directors across the breadth of technical issues impacting the residential building industry, including building codes and standards, materials, compliance, sustainability, accessibility, durability and adaptability.As a national position the role can be based in a capital city location with a preference for Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office.Key responsibilities include: Provide support to the Executive Director Building Policy and Building Services.Coordinate and oversee management of HIA’s CRM system to appropriately record HIA’s interactions with members and non-members on technical and planning matters.Develop and maintain an information library and data base of technical resources aimed at providing members and staff with easy to understand technical information and aids that will make HIA the recognised leader in residential building information.Provide tactical and operational support to regional building service staff to enhance service offered to members and customers.Monitor and maintain relationships with code and regulation makers and in conjunction with Executive Director - Building Policy and Building Services, manage campaigns to limit unwarranted legislation and regulation of residential building.Manage the service delivery of HIA’s building services teams across the regions collaboratively in a matrix management system.Develop a national service culture where staff are comfortable servicing members from any region.Work closely with other national service teams in proactively communicating and identifying the diverse needs of members.The successful applicant will have: Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.Ability to develop and maintain national and regional information systemsDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgementA strong track record in building service delivery.High level research and analytical capabilityHighly developed operational management skillsAbility to motivate and lead a dispersed team of building professionals.Commitment to improving the business environment for HIA members.Capacity to take initiative and form part of a multi-disciplinary team.Ability to manage a range of projects, and deliver outcomes.Appropriate qualification in building or a related area.Position Description AUD Campbell 2612
