North Hobart locationNational, NFP OrganisationFull time, permanent role within a supportive teamThe Housing Industry Association is Australia’s peak residential building industry body. We are currently seeking an Events Administrator to join our team located in our Hobart office. The primary focus of this role is to assist in the development and delivery of a relevant and profitable events program for Tasmania.The key responsibilities of this position are to assist with the coordination, organisation and running of all regional events including the Housing Awards program, Building Women’s program, industry forums, the Industry Outlook, HIA HOMEFEST and other events.Duties include: Maintaining records, event registrations, including venue and catering and taking payments where necessaryPreparation of schedules, and assist with HOMEFEST exhibitor coordination, logistics and supportIdentify suitable venues, select and negotiate prices for catering, audio visual and entertainment in conjunction with the Event & Partnerships ManagerEvent set up using Events Air and CRM systemsCoordinate relevant material and collateral for eventsMaintain the membership database and organisation documentationCommunications and Event MarketingWork with HIA specialist teams (design, marketing) to ensure industry issues are being delivered to our members through the events programLiaise with key stakeholders for events including partners, venues, guests and production consultantsAssist with ongoing financial management and reporting on event registrations and Award entriesWork to achieve budget for allocated events and assist with details of profit and lossProvide office administrative support including reception, stationery sales, postage, banking and room set up as required To be successful in this role you will require:Strong organisational and time management skillsHighly developed computer skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, Dropbox and PowerPointHighly developed verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work well within a small team environment and autonomously.The ability to successfully work with HIA team members in different business units and across various regionsAbility to remain calm and level headed under pressure and remain professional at all times whilst representing HIA;Strong problem solving skills;Energetic and enthusiasticThe flexibility to work out of hours to set up and pack down eventsCurrent Driver’s LicenseHands on experience with CRM, Events Air, OpenWater, Webinar platforms or ability to acquire these skillsThe successful applicant will be committed to deadlines and have recent experience in a similar role.A full job description can be found in the Careers section of the HIA website, hia.com.au/about-us/careers-at-hiaIf you are interested in joining our friendly team please submit your application by 1 July 2022 by clicking on the link to apply.
