East Melbourne location Fixed term contract for 6 months If you enjoy the idea of becoming an expert across a range of legal areas, a trusted advisor to individuals and businesses of all sizes and the ‘go to’ person in the office, then this role is for you.HIA currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated legal expert to lead our Victorian team, as Manager – Workplace Services to provide advice to members across the Victorian and Tasmanian regions.What will you be doing?If you have always wanted to use your legal skills to have a direct and positive impact then this is the job for you.In your role you will directly advise HIA members, over the phone, across a range of legal and compliance disciplines including employment law, human resources, contract management and administration, construction law, dispute resolution, safety and builder’s licensing. The role also requires that you lead and mentor a small team of workplace advisors, coordinate, attend and provide briefings to committees of HIA members, and provide policy, research and lobbying support to the Victorian and Tasmanian regions.You will also engage with members face to face through a variety of activities including the delivery of training and membership presentations to small and large groups on key business compliance issues.Supporting and representing the interests of our members is a core value of HIA. In this role you will assist HIA advocate state and local government agencies and regulators and formulate policy submissions on a range of legal and compliance matters.Who are you?Are you looking for a hands on role outside of a traditional law firm? Being a good communicator is vital. You will need to have tertiary qualification in legal, industrial relations, construction or related discipline.
