Work with a leading national industry associationEast Melbourne locationFulltime, permanent roleIf you enjoy the idea of becoming an expert across a range of legal areas, a trusted adviser to individuals and businesses of all sizes and the ‘go to’ person in the office, then this role is for you.HIA currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Workplace Adviser to join our Melbourne based team, to provide advice to members across the Victoria and Tasmania.What will you be doing?If you have always wanted to use your legal skills to have a direct and positive impact then this is the job for you.In your role you will directly advise HIA members, over the phone, across a range of legal and compliance disciplines including employment law, human resources, contract management and administration, construction law, dispute resolution, safety and builder’s licensing. The role may also involve supporting the Manager – Workplace Services in mentoring a small team of workplace advisors, coordinating, attending and providing briefings to committees of HIA members, and providing policy, research and lobbying support.You may also be asked to meet members face to face through the delivery of training and presentations to small and large groups on key business compliance issues.Supporting and representing the interests of our members is a core value of HIA. In this role you may be given opportunities to assist HIA lobby governments and regulators and formulate policy submissions.Who are you?Are you looking for a hands on role outside of a traditional law firm? Being a good communicator is vital. You will need to have tertiary qualification in legal, industrial relations, construction or related discipline.
