Are you tired of filling in timesheets?  If so, this is the opportunity for you!HIA Legal Services is seeking a highly motivated lawyer to join our Brisbane team, providing expert guidance to Housing Industry Association (HIA) members across Queensland.About the roleIn this role, you will use your legal knowledge to make a direct and positive impact by advising HIA members over the phone and in writing on key legal and compliance matters, including:Employment law and human resource issues, including individual flexibility arrangements and drafting letters of engagement;Contract management and administration: providing guidance on how to administer HIA’s suite of contracts including around variations, extensions of time and disputes;Construction law and dispute resolution: assisting members with preliminary advice regarding QCAT applications, adjudications and security of payment matters;Compliance matters, including workplace safety and builder’s licensing obligations and requirements.You may also have opportunities to conduct training sessions and presentations for members, helping them navigate key business compliance issues.Additionally, you may contribute to HIA’s advocacy efforts by assisting in lobbying, regulatory discussions, and policy submissions. You may also have the chance to support the review and management of HIA’s suite of residential and commercial building contracts nationwide.HIA Legal Services does not engage in complex legal matters, draft legal documents or represent members in legal or tribunal proceedings.  Who are you?Are you ready to take your legal career in a new direction?
