An exceptional career opportunity has become available in our Melbourne or Hobart office for the role of Senior Planner.The role As the Senior Planner, you will enjoy a real opportunity to provide an innovative and supportive advisory service to members of the Victorian and Tasmanian housing industry. You will be providing information, advice and assistance to members, regional management and other stakeholders in areas relating to town planning, land development and environmental issues.You will deliver, promote and prosecute HIA policies through a broad range of member services, lobbying and submissions and to government in relation to residential development, planning and the environment within Victoria and Tasmania.The role encompasses a policy and advocacy focus, as well as a stakeholder engagement focus, with the following key accountabilities:Timeliness of advice and information provided to stakeholdersAccuracy and quality of advice and information provided to stakeholderContribution to the team environmentDemonstrated willingness to research and develop personal knowledge and skillsProducing relevant and informative content for Committees as directed by Victorian / Tasmanian Regional Executive Directors and the Executive Director – Planning & Development.The personThe successful applicant will:Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning or Management, or Building related disciplineSound understanding of the housing industry with specific demonstrated experience in the multi-residential market and land developmentsExcellent organisational ability and ability to manage competing prioritiesExcellent networking and communication skills and capacity to handle key relationshipsWell-developed research and report writing skillsHighly computer literate and capable with on-line research tools and the Microsoft Office suiteExcellent communication skills (both written and oral)Ability to build rapport with HIA members and industry stakeholders in prosecuting HIA policiesA full job description can be found in the Careers section on our website hia.com.au.If you are interested in joining our team, please click on the link to apply by 19 July 2024.
