The Housing Industry Association is Australia’s peak residential building industry body. We are the largest nationally operating group apprenticeship scheme in Australia.
HIA has an exciting role for an energetic and enthusiastic candidate who can successfully deliver growth of the HIA youthBUILD program through support, active participation and oversight of the program and associated projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Program Growth: Implementing youthBuild in all public secondary schools (55) while identifying opportunities to work with Catholic and Independent schools.
- Content and Resource Development: Assisting in the creation of high-quality learning materials and resources and ensuring they comply with the latest version of the education curriculum. Maintaining the youthBuild website.
- Relationship Management: Arranging and conducting site visits to participating schools, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures. Liaising with DECYP and other industry associations on delivery, course development and outcomes.
- Communication & Support: Providing timely responses to teacher inquiries and delivering relevant advice and support to HIA YouthBuild schools.
- Administration & Reporting: Maintaining accurate records, reporting on program activities as required by funding bodies, and providing timely updates to HIA management and stakeholders. Attending DECYP youthBuild meetings.
- Promotion & Engagement: Promoting the HIA youthBuild program, contributing to social media and marketing efforts, and representing HIA with integrity and in accordance with company values.
To be successful, you will require:
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrated background in the construction industry, ideally supported by relevant trade and TAE qualifications.
- Compliance: A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is essential.
- Exceptional Organisation: Proven ability to manage time effectively and maintain strong organisational skills.
- Planning & Collaboration: Experience in planning and building strong working relationships.
- Communication Prowess: High level of written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong administrative capabilities.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Canvas, and similar computer programs.
- Construction Insight: In-depth knowledge of the construction sector.
- Educational Understanding: Familiarity with educational processes and methodologies in alignment with Australian Curriculum Standards.
- Safety Awareness: A solid grasp of health and safety regulations.
- Team Player & Self-Starter: Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- Professional Representation: Capacity to represent HIA and its interests in a professional and positive manner.
- Problem-Solving Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Driven & Passionate: An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Valid Driver's License: A current driver's license is required.
